Can I register a regular xbox one controller?

I got a new regular controller for Christmas. the receipt is lost and my controller keeps losing connection wirelessly. I don't see where I can register my controller under devices.

If you register your console on the Xbox Myservice site, you can select to replace a accessory and then select controller. It gives you the option of a Day One controller or a regular one.

The supervisor I spoke to on the phone said it was a 90% chance that I would get a Day One controller for a replacement. They run it through diagnostics to see if they can repair the one you sent in first.
