If this does not work, you can try to look for email receipts on alternative accounts or find accounts you made be logged into on different services.

I have heard stories of Xbox support being able to lock the account but I would try to recover the account first.

Just a heads up that recovering an account email needs to have access to the security proofs that the email has because without access to those information, it will be difficult to recover the username.
