Can I recover a game key which was registered with Games for Windows Live?

Microsoft ended up supporting GFWL as we know. But registration information of retail games is still being hold within their database. I registered a game several years ago. I forgot my windows live ID and probably it was deleted due to long time no activity. I still have the retail disk, and the game key code. But I'm not able to play the game. This is nonsense. You should do something about it.
