Can I purchase games with my debit card on my Xbox 360?

You do not need a credit or debit card on your account if you use an Xbox 360. I purchase Xbox 360 & original Xbox games on my Xbox 360, and have never had a credit or debit card on my account. I only use gift cards.

When you say "payment card" do you mean debit / credit card. I already have a debit card tied to my account. I purchased far cry 5 with it a few weeks ago on the Xbox One marketplace (not Xbox 360 since it isn't an Xbox 360 game).

I have also noticed that my issue applies to any game I try to buy on the Xbox 360 marketplace.

Hello DarrenQY, in the case of purchasing games on the 360 it's not about the console but the region you are in and the payment methods available.

At the moment the methods below are supported.

Credit cards.

Prepaid credit cards.

Debit cards (not available in all regions)

PayPal accounts (not available in all regions)

Direct debit (Germany only)

While the Xbox Billing system is not set up to specifically accept Debit cards, they can work for purchases. I often use my Visa Debit for purchases on Xbox.

Although if a Debit card does not work then there is not much anyone can do, the officially supported methods of payment are Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Paypal.

If you are haveing trouble with a Debit card you could try linking that to a Paypal account and then the Paypal to the Xbox account. Or just use Pre Paid Codes.

You need to have a Credit Card or Debit Card to purchase any Xbox 360 Game. (You can't use Microsoft Credit)
