Can I prevent Purchases Being Charged to My Card?

My fiance and I were under the impression that some of the maps we downloaded for call of duty where free, but while looking at my account I noticed they are not. Is there a way to prevent these purchases from being made...even on accident?

Pre-ordering FIFA 19

I pre-ordered FIFA 19 on 8/30, I assumed the payment went through right away considering my Xbox One started downloading FIFA 19 right away. Last week I received a message from Xbox Live saying they had a problem completing my order of FIFA 19 and to visit
account.microsoft.com/orders to update my payment method in order to prevent my purchase from being canceled. I went onto the site and unselected my debit card and selected it again since it is the only payment method I use. I had noticed a few days later
that I had been charged for the game. Could I have possibly been charged twice for the game?

It is my understanding that there is a confirmation pop up prior to every purchase that asks you to verify that you want to purchase the item at the price that is again displayed for you. There is no way to prevent your card from being used other than to
remove it from your account.

My recommendation would be to speak to your credit card company and report the fraud to them. They can prevent further purchases from going through as well as have the charges credited back to you. They have procedures in place for this happening. They
will probably have new cards issued to you to prevent further charges.

If you're sure that you or no one you know made this purchase, you may be a victim of a stolen card or fraud. Contact your bank to dispute the charges and prevent more charges. Tell them your credit card has been stolen, if you only dispute the charges, there's nothing to prevent the fraudulent charges from happening again.

Microsoft does offer way for you to try to identify who made the purchase. It will show a partially hidden or redacted part of the account name.

Go to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments

Next to “Don’t recognize a charge on your bank statement?”, select Investigate.

If the card is not on your account, select Add a credit or debit card and follow the instructions to add the card to your account. Enter the card's security details and select Submit.

Select the arrow next to the charge being queried to show detailed information. Look at the Microsoft account used information.

It can be purchased with the balance on his account. You would however need a card on there as it's a reoccurring subscription. Once you have purchased login with his account details at HTTPS://account.microsoft.com/services and
turn off auto renew. This will prevent any charges to your card in future.
