    I have recently bought minecraft on xbox one and I also would like to have it on pc and because my pc has windows 10 and hase the xbox app I was wondering is it possible to play minecraft on pc for free because I bought it on xbox one ?

    Do I have to buy Minecraft Windows 10 edition if I want to play?

    Or can I just the Xbox one edition that I already have? If so, how do I do that?

    No, because on windows 10 is called by Minecraft Windows 10 Edition. You should go here Xbox Play Anywhere | Xbox for ensure that Minecreft is not a Play Anywhere

    I own minecraft "windows 10 edition" on xbox one but isn't availabile on windows 10....
    There is no "Windows 10 Edition" on the Xbox One.

    On the Xbox One, there was a "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" but that has been replaced with just "Minecraft".

    As the others already said, "Minecraft" is not a Play Anywhere title, so owning "Minecraft" on the Xbox One, doesn't give you "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition" on the PC.

    However, if you own Minecraft Java Edition on PC, you can log into your Mojang Account on PC, and can get a code for the Windows 10 Version.

    You would have to purchase the PC version of Minecraft in order to be able to play it on the PC.

    There are games you can purchase digitally on Xbox or PC and download and play for free on the other. Those are called Play Anywhere titles. Unfortunately Minecraft is not one of those games.

    Make sure that you have "Minecraft" on your Xbox one console or "Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition" on your PC in order to be able to play with your friend. If you have "Minecraft: Xbox One edition", then you can go to the store and download "Minecraft" to play

    there is 2 versions of Minecraft for the Xbox One. The older "xbox one" version has stopped getting updates. It is also not able to support cross play. The Miecraft just labeled "Minecraft" on xbox one is the version that can play between console, PC,
    android, Switch, etc.

    For PC, just make sure you play the win 10 version (Bedrock) and not Java.
