Can i play sea of thieves on my PC and Xbox at the same time ?

Hi to whomever answers this. so i recently bought sea of thieves on my main account and would like to know if i can play it on PC and Xbox at the same time on different accounts so i signed into my main account on PC and my main account signed into the
Xbox using home Xbox to play it on another account. the other account does not have Xbox live gold by the way. iv been trying for the past day to try and get it to work but an error message keeps appearing "Game is already in use".

Sea of thieves decided to uninstall itself for some reason over night, making it so that I cant play Sea of Thieves today due to the long download time.

If I buy Sea of Thieves on Steam, can I play with the same account as on the xbox app version? That way I wont need to deal with the Xbox app or its version of Sea of Thieves.

You can play at the same time like you are thinking but not in the same match there is no cross platform capabilities at this point in time.

In the capabilities section for the game sea of thieves there is a mention for the following:

Xbox Live cross-platform multiplayer
Xbox Live cross-platform co-op

This means that it should be possible to play a multiplayer co-op game of sea of thieves with my wife, her on the xbox and me on the PC. I dont have any digital games that have the mention "xbox play anywhere" otherwise i would test this myself.

If your xbox console is set as the home console for your profile that owns the game then any other profile should be able to play the game on the xbox console without your profile being signed in at the same time.

With the Home Xbox setting if your profile has a gold subscription it will also share that subscription with any other profile being on that console.

With that being said and your console is set as your home console your profile should not have to be signed in.

Just going by your post "my main account signed into the Xbox using home Xbox to play it on another account" If the console is set as this profiles home console it should not need to be signed in at the same time. Since this is signed
in then that may be why you are getting this message.

I have the same problem but i am not playing on Xbox but on pc and sea of thieves changes the language to german.

Can i play sea of thieves on my PC and Xbox at the same time ?
