Can I play game (offline part) I bought with gold membership even after expired

I have seen quite a lot of threads from difference sources complain about losing access to game after gold membership expired.

I have an Xbox one. Currently there are a lot of game for sale (not free though) from xbox site during holiday, and I have an active gold membership but about to expire and don't want to extend it soon. So I was wondering if I lose any access to the game
if I purchased with gold, or only the online part of it? I want to buy GTA V and Witcher 3 and actually I don't play online that much, so it will be a waste if I lost access after expiration.

I tried to find such information from Xbox faq but really none could be found. So hopefully can find an answer here. Thanks in advance !

Xbox live problems

I tried to play some overwatch the seen my gold membership was expired so I went out and bought a 3 month prepaid card and enter’ed it and everything seem good I even downloaded a game that was free for gold members but when I when to play overwatch or any
game with an online multiplayer it said I needed gold membership even though I have it and it’s in my memberships? Any help would really be appreciated

Renew your membership to play this game

I got AC IV: black flag and unity with the bundle. I redeemed the codes for both the games. But after the 14 days trial of Xbox live gold expired, when i try to open black flag it says "Because you got this game through games with gold, you need an active
gold membership to play", even though i did not get this game through games with gold. AC unity works just fine. Please, can someone help me

You would lose access just to the online part.

Games you purchase on your account (on sale or regular price) are always available to your account when signed in.

As long as you're connected to the internet you would still be able to download your purchased games.

The only games that you wouldn't be able to play once you no longer have Xbox Live Gold, would be the titles on the Xbox One that you received for free threw the monthly 'Games with Gold'. Here's the quote from the
Games with Gold information. "active Gold membership required to play downloaded Xbox One games."

I should clarify that you get to keep the Xbox 360 titles you downloaded for free with 'Games with Gold'. It's just the titles for the Xbox One that you wouldn't be able to play until you were gold once again.

In Summary

Both Xbox one and Xbox 360 games need to be download to play
Xbox 360 - The Game with Gold games belong to you once you get it, you can continue to play them even when your gold membership expires
Xbox One - You will require gold membership to play the games. Once your gold membership expires, you lose access to all your Game with Gold free games

Sorry to hear it. Xbox One Games with Gold games do require a Gold membership in order to continue playing them. If your membership expires you'll either need to purchase the game or continue on with a new membership.

Xbox 360 Games with Gold games are your to keep regardless of your membership status.

That's the thing. I currently have Xbox live gold but can not access my games. I bought a year subscription but it won't let me access my previous games with gold
