Can I map keyboard's keys to the paddles of the xbox one elite 1, on PC ?

Hey, I don't understand the point of the paddles on the elite controller 2 ! Why adding 4 new buttons if you can't map anything else than the one already on your controller, why not being able to map keys from the keyboard ?

The paddles are great for games where you're needing to press in the left or right stick as an input, which is pretty much most big titles these days. Also they're great for shooters because you can map stuff like jump, reload, melee buttons to the paddles,
that way your thumbs never need to leave the sticks. Gives you that extra split second of aiming that you need. Also helps a lot for battle royale games.

I have the four paddles on my original Elite controller set for sprint, crouch/slide, heals and melee for Apex Legends, and I found that I had a lot more success on the game when it come to shoot outs with other players.

The paddles are also great for NHL, where I can just set one of the paddles to be a stick click for skating faster.

The shift button allows you to assign a secondary set of mappings to controls.

So, for example, in your screenshot the lower-left paddle is mapped to LS, however, if you hold in shift and press the lower-left paddle, it's then mapped to X instead of LS. That allows you to do 2 different actions with the same paddle, depending on whether you have shift held in or not.

Think of it like your computer keyboard. If you press the 7 key by itself you just get the number 7. If you hold down shift and press it, you get the & symbol instead. 2 different characters are mapped to the same key, and which one you get depends on if you're pressing shift or not.

I'm on Windows 10 and reverting back got my paddles to be recognized by reWASD, Thank you edi tempura. Blows my mind that Microsoft doesn't make it to where the elite series 2 can have the paddles mapped to the keyboard instead of using 3rd party software to do it.

There are a few possible reasons why your key combinations are not working on the Elite Series 2 controller paddles.

1. The key combination mode is disabled.

By default, key combination mode is disabled on the Elite Series 2 controller. To enable it, follow these steps:

1) Open the Xbox Accessories application.
2) Select "Controller & Accessories".
3) Select your Elite Series 2 controller.
4) Select "Advanced Settings".
5) Activate the "Keyboard Mode" option.

2. The keys you are using are not compatible with the key combination mode.

Keyboard shortcut mode only supports the function keys, arrow keys, Enter key, Tab key, Delete key, Home key, Pause/Pause key and Escape key. If you try to use other keys, they will not work in key combination mode.
