Can I log into my gamertag offline??

My step dad got me a Xbox One S for doing good in school and I was excited till I found out about the one day update I mean it wasn't really a problem the only probelm was that I had to go to a friends house to get it updated cause first of all I don't have
hotspot nor Wi-Fi But the one thing that got me ticked off was that Even after MS said u only need internet for the one day update I needed Internet to log into my gamertag like really I find that dumb Is there anyway I can log into my gamertag without an
internet connection Like first of all why do we need an internet connection just to put in the password

help please

i went into my laptop and changed my gamertag name and now when im in xbox, i cannot log in from my previous gamertag name to match the names up? hope that makes sense. I need to change my xbox gamertag so i can properly log in and use xbox again. Can someone
please help me

Error 80151006, cannot download profile, try again later

I Have Waited More than 12 hours and still no gamertag change i cannot even log into my account i can only log into it via xbox.com, what shall i do now ?

you misunderstand. you are not logging in to the internet when it asks you to log in.you are logging into your gamertag,that you can do offline. from your question...have you not had a 360 or a playstation?they require you to log into some type of gamertag/account
as well offline or not .

I seen a response to remove my gamertag, unplug, start xbox, add gamertag back. Big mistake! If you can't log in then you can't add your gamertag to the console. Ending result. You can't play your offline games until you add your gamertag back. Basically
a dead xbox!

Next time, I'll just unplug the Ethernet cable and play offline.

You can turn their offline accounts into gamertags on the 360 and then download them on your Xbox One.

Unfortunately you can not merge an offline profile with an existing Xbox live profile. This will likely never change.
