    You can purchase 5 years of Live Gold membership on 5 12 month cards and activate each one as each year expires. Or you can activate 3 12 month cards and have a total of 36 months of maximum subscription and then activate the 2 12 month cards.

    LIVE 12-month cards issued this year typically don't expire until 2025. Take a picture of the card and you can save that as a backup, so long as some one else didn't redeem it. Don't stack more than 2 years's worth on the account,
    though.
