I noticed my xbox will charge the controller even when the console is off, it's on fully shutdown mode, and im scared the battery will explode, i know it's have an overcharge protection but the battery will stop at 100% and the charges stop then when it's at 99% then start charges again to 100%, is it not dangerous? Sorry if it's a dumb question, i don't understand these things im just scared

    :)

Can i leave the elite 2 controller plugged in the console in 24/7 or i should disconnect it at night?

If you're worried about leaving it plugged in overnight, then just charge during the day, and disconnect it before you go to sleep.

Hello Xbox360fanguy99, my name is Oskayra, and I will be happy to help you.

Beforehand, it is important that you keep in mind that this is a public community forum, so we are players like you, we are not employees of Microsoft or Xbox, so we do not have access to any user account or check anything from the forum. All users help each other with common problems.

I'm very sorry for the problem you're going through. I was researching Xbox Support about caring for the controller's battery and found this article (https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/controller/charge-elite -series-2) where they clarify the following:

"The Elite Series 2 controller has a battery life of up to 40 hours when used wirelessly without headphones. Battery life varies significantly based on additional accessories (such as headphones), use, and other factors. These are Other factors you should take into account when loading:

Control does not require you to follow a specific loading practice. For example, you don't have to completely drain the battery before recharging it.

The controller can be connected indefinitely if you prefer to play with a wired connection. This will not affect the battery, even if it is at 100%.

We recommend charging the controller only from an Xbox console or PC. Avoid alternative charging methods, such as a USB wall charger."

Thank you for your patience, I hope everything can be resolved. I will be attentive to your response. Blessings.

    Sincerely,
    Oskayra.

Xbox one controller disconnected during update now wont turn on

    Try these two things.

    1. Remove batteries and disconnect headset

    2. Insert batteries

    3. Press Xbox button

    4. Hold View and Menu buttons together for 10 seconds

    5. Controller should power back on

    If that does not work...

    1. Remove batteries and disconnect headset

    2. Connect controller to console with USB cable with no batteries inserted

    3. Leave console at home screen and controller plugged into console, let sit for 5 minutes

    4. Controller should power back on

    Xbox X controllers disconnecting

This is happening to me too, only after last May 2022 update. I have a Elite series 2 controller and the only way I can play without constant disconnect is to leave the charger cord connected at all times.

    Power Consumption a problem.

If it only takes a couple of watts of power in standby then it's literally not even going to cost $2 / year in electricity to leave it plugged in 24/7 in standby.

Granted there's plenty of other things to complain about with the X1, but this isn't one of them.
