    Can I install Minecraft on Xbox if on Windows 10


    Hi,

    I was just looking through some games I could buy for my Xbox One S and I wondered; can I download Minecraft Xbox One Edition if I have bought the Windows 10 Edition? I just thought of it so I could try and save some money, Thanks!

    Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition runs specifically on Windows 10. If you would like to play Minecraft on Xbox One, you will want to take a look at Minecraft:
    Xbox One Edition    . If you would like to install the Windows 10 version of Minecraft on your Windows 10 PC, sign into the account that originally redeemed the code and download through the Windows Store.

    Unfortunately no. You would need to buy the One version in order to play on the One.

    Only Play Anywhere games can be bought for one device and played on both. You can find a list of those games here

    Hey there,

    The windows 10 edition will only be available on a Windows 10 platform. If you do have the new update in which the game is now only called "Minecraft" then that one should be available to play on both the PC and on your Xbox One.

    I own minecraft "windows 10 edition" on xbox one but isn't availabile on windows 10....
    There is no "Windows 10 Edition" on the Xbox One.

    On the Xbox One, there was a "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" but that has been replaced with just "Minecraft".

    As the others already said, "Minecraft" is not a Play Anywhere title, so owning "Minecraft" on the Xbox One, doesn't give you "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition" on the PC.

    However, if you own Minecraft Java Edition on PC, you can log into your Mojang Account on PC, and can get a code for the Windows 10 Version.

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are attempting to install game onto your laptop.

    There are two different versions of Minecraft

    1. Minecraft [Bedrock] which is the one for consoles, mobile devices and Windows 10.
    2. Minecraft [Java] which is strictly for PC.

    Even though you may own Minecraft for your Xbox One, you would need to have
    Minecraft for Windows 10     in order to be able to install this title onto your console.
