    Can I get my xbox to play sound through my headset?


    I recently purchased the new controller with the 3.5mm jack so that I could use my PC mic on my xbox. It works well but I can't get game audio to play through it.

    I have a creative fatal1ty hs-800 headset plugged into my controller through a Sennheiser PCV 05 Combo audio adapter.

    Any help would be appreciated

    -Edit- I should also add that the chat mixer bar is greyed out.

    I don't own any of those, but I do have a set of Turtle Beach which I am very pleased with. Looking at the reviews on Amazon and Bestbuy (my local go to store), the XP400 and 510 got slightly better reviews. They all look pretty good. Might be a good subject for another thread. I'm sure there are some guys on here who own those headsets.

    If you have not already done so you should first plug the headset into the controller and then carry out a firmware update to see if this resolves your issue.

    I play with sound on, but through my headset. I like playing sound through my headset while gaming and playing music. Its weird for me play it through the TV unless Im alone.

    Like I said both the xbox and turtle headset mics work fine just don't get sound out of them. Is there a setting inside xbox that might have turned off the sound to the headsets as xbox plays fine through my tv no problem with the sound.

    Hi, basically when I use my xbox one headset i can transmit sound but i receive sound from other headsets through my speakers and i do not know how to get it to come through my headset this is a really big problem for me because it ruins any voice communications
