    Can I get minecraft cheaper if I owned it on the xbox 360


    I bought minecraft on the Xbox 360 a while ago now and I was wondering if there is any way to get it cheaper on the Xbox One or if not the game then get all the Texture packs and mash-up packs i bought on the 360 for free on the Xbox One?

    Backwards compatible games & region

    One has PEGI rating and one has ESRB rating. Sometimes though, the music used can be different due to licensing the audio so there can be more than a rating board difference.

    btw, when you migrate your account you don't lose any games. I had a UK account and moved to the US and migrated my account. Only thing I lost access to was films I had bought on Xbox Video.

    You do get some odd things happen though, like the Minecraft promotion where you got it free on Xbox One if you owned it on Xbox 360. It didn't detect I owned the 360 version as I bought it when my account was UK, so had to re-purchase Minecraft for Xbox
    One. I could and can still play the 360 version of Minecraft on my 360 though.

    No discount price for Minecraft Xbox One

    Also, if you haven't played minecraft on 360 for a while then you should boot it up. If 360 version needs an update it didn't get lately, that could be the prob. If 360 Minecraft does update, it could take up to 3 days for the Xbox One version discount to
    show up. I think you had to have owned Minecraft 360 version prior to Xbox One coming out. Good Luck.

    I do support this idea, however I don't think its up to Microsoft to decide this (at least not for all games). The developer of those games would have to decide that and some developers have done that in the past (example: Bastion).

    Actually I am wondering the same thing so I went to Dev first and they said its up to Microsoft. My 2 1/2 year old loves watching me play it and I'd love to teach him how.

    There was an offer to get it cheaper, but unfortunately that has expired. You would have to pay the full price or wait for it to go on sale.

    Some DLC can transfer over, but not all.

    Yeah, the game's cheaper on Xbox. Guess what else? It's a beta release, and Minecraft was able to be boguht for $20 on PC when it was in beta.

    Then consider the fact that paying $30 on PC gets you a bigger world than the 360, larger multiplayer options, free skins, the ability to make your own skins, and seemingly-endless mods that can completely change how the game plays for people. That extra
    $10 gives you about 20 times the content that we get on 360.

    Sorry but owning a game for the 360 does not mean that you can get it for free for the One. They are both separate consoles so you would need to purchase the games separately.

    However, that being said there are some offers out there to get free or cheap upgrades on games or DLC. Rocksmith and Minecraft both offer free upgrades for some of their DLC. Minecraft also offers a cheaper price for upgrading to the One.
