Can I get an gamer tag that's banned unbanned?

Can a gamertag that's banned be unbanned? I'm tired of the gamertag I currently have and I thought of a new one but when I go to change it to the new one it says it's unavailable. I searched for a player that would have the gamertag but it says it couldn't
find anyone with that gamertag. I assume that means it's banned and if it is, is it possible to get it unbanned so that I can use it?

Modded Hacked And Infected Lobbies

I wish there was a way to create a separation like that and really ensure that hackers and modders don't get into the no-cheating-allowed rooms. I wish they logged IP addresses and banned cheaters based on that instead of suspending them based on their gamer tag. All they do is turn around and create a new gamer tag!!

If the system says it's taken, then it's in use somewhere on Microsoft's service. The tag system is used on other Microsoft services, so even if it's not in use on an Xbox, it could be in use somewhere else. There is no way you could have the tag unless
the original owner changes the tag or it is eventually released by Microsoft.

Hello,

You should visit the enforcement forums. No one on this forum can assist you in getting your gamer tag unbanned, or help getting the charge waived.

No idea why your gamer tag got force changed but I do know the enforcement team do look.at all complaints and deal with every case carefully. If it violated the code of conduct in any way while being a personalised gamer tag, action would be taken.
