Can I download Games with Gold games on Xbox.com

Hi,

Can I download a Games with Gold game (free) on Xbox.com when I am not near my Xbox One and still get them for free? And the same with Xbox 360 games?

How so? I am trying to get Thief for 360, but when I go to do that, it says it is 29.99 and wants me to pay and verify my information.

360 games yes.

Not sure about Xbox One games, but you can use smartglass.

 

yes you can just go to the xbox live tab at the top of the page and wait for the drop down menu to appear then select games with gold.

 

I got that far and clicked Download from Xbox Store. But then I go and see that it says Buy and the price. When I click it, it wants me to verify my information to buy it. I don't go that far because I don't want my card getting charged for something I could/should
get free.

 

If it has free it won't charge you.

 

But it isn't saying free, its telling me a price. But, it is a Games with Gold title, it should be free. Doesn't make sense to me.

Could be it hasn't updated yet. Time differences vary region to region.

 

I've noticed that in some places it will show a price, but in others, it will say free - it's a product of bad site design (for example, it'll have a price on the main game page, but if you look at all of the DLC for the game, the game itself will be listed
as free). Thankfully, regardless of which you see, it should still be free because at the moment just before you make the purchase, if it's available for free, it will ALWAYS say that it is (just make sure that it says so right before you make the purchase
or you might literally be paying for your mistake).

 

Yes just make sure you dont change your security info or else you cant download on xbox.com for 30 days i just missed out on thief on 360 sense i dont have any friends with 360

But yes you can download both

 

It is very confusing. I should just verify my information and see what the next screen says. For all I know it could just say 'Free' on that next screen to check out.

I just quickly went ahead with it, and sure enough, after verifying my account, the next screen said Free.

I just really wanted to make sure that I wouldn't be charged. My luck, that would of happened, except this time
