Can I download games to my Xbox without using my actual xbox?

My xbox is already set up, it just needs to connect to the internet but i cant connect it to the internet as i can not actually see the xbox display, is there anyway to connect my xbox to the internet without having to use the device itself

Not quite sure what you mean "recent security issues" but I hope you understand that no one has "hacked" into anything on Xbox LIVE. Not sure if you know this but it's up to the users to keep their information up to date as well as use different passwords for
all of their e-mail accounts. As far as STEAM is concerned, think you'd like to take a gander at how many people say their STEAM accounts were stolen, hacked into etc. Steam Guard isn't the best, in fact nothing is. Keeping your own security measures in check
keeps consumers safe. A company can only go so far, with the recent security changes Microsoft has made it's actually helped with account's being "hacked".

As far as your question is concerned you will not be able to download a file onto your PC and then put it on your Xbox 360. If you wish to download a game on the Xbox 360, it will need to be done by connecting to Xbox 360 to the internet, downloading it and
then if you wish disconnecting it from Xbox LIVE. Games downloaded on STEAM cannot be used on the Xbox 360, sorry.

Edit: I see you made another post, so to answer that question, no you should not do that because then you will not be able to play the game offline. If you wish to use your son in law's internet connection you will need to take your console to your son in laws
house with your own hard drive attached and download the game. That's how the console's licenses work. If you do it that way, you will only be able to play the game while online, not online and offline.

I'm confused as to why you're thinking money can just be taken by accessing your account? If you have no credit card on the account how is someone going to be taking any money to begin with?

If people are scared their cards are not safe, don't add them. Microsoft has prepaid subscription cards as well as points for whatever you'd like to purchase, still not seeing why you'd be so hesitant to not connect it to the internet to download a game (which
you don't need a credit card to do if you have a redemption code....) and then disconnect it from the internet. Either way, your choice.

In regards to your question about the game prompting you for an update, if the console was newly purchased it's possible the game you have has a more recent system update which is required to play the game. If the console is in fact connected to some sort of
internet source you may be prompted to download this as well.

Oh, it has, Strigoi. Paypal is now accepted for points and subscriptions, as are prepaid subscription cards for subscriptions and prepaid points cards for points. You do not need a credit or debit card on file to have Gold.

Furthermore, if you bought a game and need to download it, Gold is not required. Downloading games you have purchased, as with downloading other content, does not need a Gold subscription.

I really don't want to go down that rabbit hole again... I purchased some games for windows, I did not know that an xbox live account was created for me and my card details were kept live in that account until someone had entered, bought some MS points and
(as usual) the latest EA game. I believe a requirement for a gold account is a current card (although that may have now changed) As for Steam... my account has 60 games and if anyone got in... all they could do is take them...(they're welcome I've played them
to death) they couldn't purchase anything without going through my bank confirmation or paypal confirmation so my money is safe there. it took me just under a year to receive my MS refund (I got socially engineered like Stepto) If you shopped at a store and
was robbed you also would be reluctant to return to that store unless security was tightened. But I digress I'm sorry. The question has been posted elsewhere so feel free to delete this post. but the box was turned on and instantly asked for an update to continue,
a friend has told me that updates are found on new games disks so I've inserted a game and the update appears to be going through... do I have to use one of them controllers. I assumed I could just use voice or kinect but couldn't make anything happen until
I used the controller...
