Can I download game saves for a game that I played through game pass pc?

I was considering purchasing astroneer through steam since I have $30 on my steam account already, but I don't want to start over since I'm very far on the game pass version. I know it's already possible to transfer save files but I no longer have a game
pass subscription and uninstalled the game a loong time ago. Will I have to purchase game pass again in order to gain access to the saves?

No, it's not possible. If the game is on another platform, then it will use a different save.

Yes, i have the game for free through Game Pass on PC. I had already played a few hours of the game but when i go in to try to load my save on PC there is not an option to load save.

They are playing on PC as well and with Game Pass Ultimate. I have Game Pass Ultimate and the game downloaded but cannot play with them because I did not download through the Microsoft Store?

Make sure the games you're trying to download are available for the PC through Game Pass and/or Play Anywhere. Not all of the same games will work on both.

Also try downloading through Xbox (beta) app. If you haven't downloaded it, you can download it at https://www.xbox.com/xbox-game-pass/pc-games?xr=shellnav

Since Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title you would have to purchase the Windows 10 version in order to play it on the PC even though you own it for the Xbox. They are considered different. Same reason as to why it won't install through Game Pass since
Games Pass is primarily for the console and only games that are also Play Anywhere titles can be downloaded and played on the PC through Game Pass.
