Can I download ea play from the Microsoft store?

I have a windows pc on windows 11 home in S mode. I would like to download ea play so I can play sims but I can only find a download link from the ea website and not from the Microsoft store. I have tried to go via the Xbox app but this is showing an error when I click on the sims app. I do not want to have to turn off S mode just to play a game as given the choice I would go for the increased security but I would like to know if I can download ea.

Hello Kbombakat, from my research the App is only available directly through the EA website, in case it is not in the store you will have to leave S mode to be able to download it.

"Windows 11 in S mode is designed for security and performance, exclusively running apps from the Microsoft Store. If you want to install an app that isn't available in the Microsoft Store, you'll need to switch out of S mode. Windows 11 in S mode is only available in the Windows 11 Home edition."

If I recall correctly the 10% discount is just in the Microsoft store / EA play app and not steam version of games

Please double check this downloading an EA game in your PC

Edit: yes, only works for EA app games or if you have an Xbox console, games from Microsoft store:

If you purchased the game through the Microsoft Store, the versions from the Microsoft Store are only available to play on the console. You can play both games on your computer if you have Xbox Game pass Ultimate that includes EA play or just an EA play subscription.

I just tried that they are linked but I still cant download or play any EA play games, it doesn't show I have EA play. The only thing I could think of thats causing problems is I have the game pass on my microsoft account thats being used as the store account for the xbox account, and maybe that I have to somehow link that store account to the EA?

Have you downloaded the EA app from the Microsoft Store? It is free to download, and active once you have the subscription. Below is a link with some additional information on EA access:
