Can I download dlc's online on a new account and play OFFLINE dlc's on a old account?

Is this actually correct?

Isn't all DLC tied to the account that downloaded it and creating a new account and doing a license transfer will only mean the old gamertag can play the content online or offline on a new console while the new account will not have access to any of the
content either online or offline? or am I missing something here ?

Okay. I think I understand what you're asking for here. As long as the account that purchases the DLC has the console that the DLC is to be played on (so the console with your ex's account on it) set as their home console, you should be able to access it
just fine through the
home console sharing.

Most DLC is licensed to two things. The account used to purchase it and the console it was bought on.



Now the account license lets you use that DLC on any console, though only for the purchasing account and only when connected to Live.



The console license lets any account on that original console use the DLC, online or offline.



What a license transfer does is switch the console license from one 360 to another. So what you need to do is recover your old account, preform the license transfer, then download the DLC again with that account. This will let you access the DLC bought with
your old account with your new one.

Most DLC is licensed to two things. The account which bought it and the console it was first downloaded to.

With the first license the account which bought the DLC can use it on any console as long as there is a connection to Live. Offline play is allowed on the console it was first downloaded on.

The console license which is given to the 360 it was first downloaded to lets all accounts on the 360 use it, online or offline.

So your account should be able to use the DLC if it bought it or if you are playing on the console where it was first downloaded.

As long as you are using the same account you used to initially purchase the DLC yes you can download it to your new console.

Firstly recover your account to the new 360, then just go to account management and select 'download history', it will all be listed there and you can re download it for free.

If you are using a new console you will need to transfer the DLC licences to it, or you will not be able to play the DLC offline.
