Can I Copy My Own Games?

Hi. I've recently bought my console and I've got a few games. Kinect Sports/Adventures and Halo 3. Is it legal that I copy these games and save for myself? I thought when I install the game on console, I won't be needed any media but I was wrong. I'm already
keeping them their on covers but can't stop thinking about liquids, scratches etc.

No. Even if you do make a copy of the game, the console cannot play burned copies of the discs.

 

sucks. there has to be a way to protect them

 

easy, keep them in the case and be careful when you take them out and make sure the system is turned OFF before moving the console. you do all of those and your games will last for years, I have old xbox games from like 02 that play perfectly.

 

Go get your games as digital download next time.

You can redownlod them from the marketplace whenever you want.

Go digital and you don´t need to worry for your discs.

 

Everybody has answered this sufficiently. However I wanted to point out that if you do make copies of discs and attempt to use them, it can be detected by the console as a pirated game and has a high chance of giving you a permanent console ban.

PS: Since 1993 when I got my first CD ROM game and now hundreds of discs later, I have never worn out or scratched a game to an unusable state. Take care of them and they will be fine.

 

Yeah. It's actually a violation of Copyright if you do make copies of games - check the license of purchase.

As long as you look after your discs (putting them back in their case, don't tilt/damage the console etc) then it should be fine for years - I've had my Original Xbox 360 console for 4 years now and every game I bought back then has worked perfectly even
to this day - even Star Wars Battlefront and I've had that since 2005!

 

Dont worry too much about scratches either as places like game offer a cheap service to re-surface the disc .
