Can I copy advanced warfare from a friends xbox one console onto my external drive and play it ...

First off I should be playing this game already but I got *** over with pre-downloading for the second time as my xbox decided to delete Advanced warfare.

So to put everything into perspective. I own the license to Advanced warfare and it is installing really slowly on by xbox. Can I speed up the process by simply copying the game file from one drive to another. I know it wouldn't work if I didn't have the
rights to it. But I do...

It's a puzzler. If you have an external HDD and it installed fine on your friends console, you can copy it onto your external HDD from your friends console and you should be able to play it from there.

 

Achievement vs gamerscore?

Can I copy my profile from my conole, put it onto a flash drive and then put it on my friends console with all the achievements?

 

Hey Rocky! Sorry you're having this issue - in short, I wouldn't expect to be able to do that, because the problem is, once your friend moves his install to your external drive, it will move ALL of the data associated with that game off of his console and
onto your external which would mean he would no longer have access to it without uninstalling himself (that's problem #1.) The other problem is, since his install data is likely registered to his profile, it would require his profile to be logged in to view
it on your console.

Sorry to have to tell you that, but that's my understanding of how the install data works. Unfortunately, I think the reason it's taking so long to install for you is because it's installing the full game PLUS all updates/patches simultaneously, which always
bogs down the installation. If you were installing from disc, we could disconnect the internet which would GREATLY speed up the installation, and then apply the patch afterward, which would still take less time than doing both simultaneously.

Actually that totally works. Sorry I didn't find your thread sooner.

Been doing it for ages. GTA for instance took something like 3 days to download and a friend couldn't even get the download happening. USB 3 hard drive, copy the file, plug it into his xbox and copy it down. Away you go.
