    Can I convert Xbox Gold account to a child's?


    My son has been using my paying account (adult) to play FIFA and bought a load of points, so I should have had him on a child account from the begining, however if I pay for another account for him he will lose all the gaming history and players he paid
    for. How can he keep all this while I am the only one with access to purchasing?

    Microsoft just ended the Family Plan for good

    Microsoft sent this announcement via e-mail to all Family Plan members. This is terrible for people who have more than one console. Also note (in bold) that this answers the questions about the Gold Live sharing on multiple consoles. So if you plan to throw out your 360's and game library and have you family glued to one Xbox One then you are good. Once you go that friends house your family cannot play in Live on either console unless you have an additional sub. Terrible.

    No it cant be done in reversed. You can always remove thr payment option and go prepaid as long as its not attachex to a subscription

    If it is you will have to call support

    Are you part of a Family Plan for your Gold membership? I know it has been discontinued but Microsoft haven't yet gotten around to converting all of them to individual Gold accounts. The three 'child' accounts in a family plan would be seen by the service
    as child accounts.

    Hello Laura, this message appears because your child's account is a child and it is not enable for purchases, in which case you can put your child's account in a Family and enable the purchase of the subscription for their account.

    The other way to uprgrade from Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate would be to buy a 25-digit Game Pass Utimate card and redeem it in your child's account, so the time he has of Gold will convert to Ultimate.

    Adult accounts cannot be made child accounts. Only child accounts can be converted to adult accounts. Not the other way around.
