Can I change email but keep all games/purchases?

Regarding your issue, unfortunately there is not a way we can do that. If you add another-email and then remove your, it will be deleted from Microsoft and you will not be able to use it anymore.

You could try adding another e-mail as an alias and making the primary and yours secondary, but that will make both e-mails linked together with the same password.

The best option for you is to create a new Microsoft account for your son, and if he is using the Xbox you can set up your account as the home console so that you can share games and subscriptions with him.

Would it be possible for me to create a new Microsoft email address for myself and have that linked to everything on my old email (Office365 subscription, computer login etc.) except xbox so my son can continue to use my old one?

He isn't going to go for having all of his experience go back to zero so for now we will keep it as is. Is there a workaround? For example, can we just change the email address that has the Microsoft account, the one that purchases the gamepass? I mean, they have to have a solution for people when they change email addresses right?

If you choose to keep games and apps the games will remain installed, if you have to delete all content, you can download all again using the same email that made those purchases
