Can I censor my swearing in a message and not get banned?

If I swear in a message but censor it, for example "f*cking", will I still get banned if I was to be reported?

Skype calls and privacy

I just read this article (which now has a Microsoft response). Report: Xbox One Upload Studio users temporarily banned for swearing (update: Microsoft responds)

So can I confirm that the anti-swearing rules only apply for public communication not personal skype messages and that the people were banned due to public not private behaviour? Because that would be like getting a phone and then having your phone company
censor your calls... it would be a breach of both privacy and customer service. Even if it is done by some bot that picks up individual words it is still a breach of privacy to have that reported somewhere else and and I wouldn't like to think that my phone
company could just cut my phone because they don't like what I am saying.

I get called trash and swear in a message and get an enforcement put on me?

Look we all get competitive at times. I played a bad game of NBA2K and the other player sends me a message calling me trash...I respond with F*** You. I get an enforcement for that after nearly 8 years of no issues I lash out and get punished after pumping
money into you and your system. Come on how is that fair in the least! Online interactions are not rated if swearing isnt allowed then censor it!!!! I shouldn't be punished for responding to someone who started things off negatively. This is just another example
of how you guys continue to do things wrong. 1000s of dollars and I get punished like I'm not the one paying you for your services...refund my money then why don't you?

I dont think you understood correctly. Adult accounts shouldn't be banned for a swear word lol. They can censor that. Adult accounts are for adults not children.

Swearing is most of the times not a thing. However Insulting people will always be punished.

You've accepted the code of conduct and you'll have to use live by that standards.

As ridiculous as it is.. yes you can be banned for a simple swear word. I myself have voiced my concern about this. I feel as an adult I am being censored. I get we are all here to make the community a better place but this is the one thing I am completely
against. You can play a video game and it can have every second word be a swear word yet I slip once and can get a comms ban. There is no excuse or reason anyone can give me to defend this. It is a very shady way of dealing with this.

The games are rated to let you know you might encounter offensive content, and you can choose accordingly. Chat is not rated so if you offend someone they have the option to report you, and you know how it goes from there.

I myself don't report swearing in the general sense, but if it's a directed insult I do.

Directing insults with swearing is not what I am talking about here. But I do agree. If you respond with hateful messages and swearing then that person deserves a comms ban. No doubt. But as far as being suspended based off swearing accidentally is my worry.
My only issue is if the game is Rated M and you say something in chat (Not directed at anyone) that can lead to a comms ban is ridiculous. If it is okay for someone to hear a word from a video game character and not for someone in in-game chat.. it is hypocritical.
And, yes I get chat is not rated.
