Can I cancel my X-Box Gold subscription now?

I'm just curious if I can cancel my X-Box Gold today, considering I don't need it for Netflix, Hulu, etc? I read that the update I downloaded recently means that I don't need Gold for entertainment apps like Netflix, but I'd rather not cancel it and find
out it hasn't been implemented yet.

Any help is appreciated!

How on earth can you cancel auto renewal???

I have 12 months subscription now but I am going round in circles trying to cancel the monthly auto renewal for X Box Gold Live. Can someone please help???

 

X Box One "Deals with Gold"

Will I lose the games purchased, at a discount, under X Box One "Deals with Gold" if I cancel my Live Gold subscription?

I Understand that this is the case with "Free Games" on Live Gold.

It has been implemented today. Just contact support and they will be able to get a prorated refund okay? check your email to make sure.

 

You can cancel at anytime you wish. May I ask why you paid in the first place????

This update has been known for a while now, Why would you pay for a service just to cancel it????

Multiplayer online gaming and the free games will still require a paid Gold subscription FYI.

If you just wanted access to the apps, Why not just wait untill they were free instead of paying in advance and wanting a refund?????

bongkaos Microsoft announced that the paywall for all the apps was getting dropped less than a month ago(13th may to be exact) the OP might have had gold since march don't berate him for having gold just to use Netflix, your post sounds condescending.

 

Well I used to play Halo 4 all the time, but unfortunately the disk drive on my X-Box is now broken, so I can no longer play. Of course I have fixed it once before, I just haven't gotten around to doing it because I haven't been interested in playing for
awhile. So for now all I will be using my X-Box for is Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube, etc.

And yes I could have easily just watched all the above on my laptop while hooked up to my HDTV, but I like the ease of using it all on X-Box.

yeah you answered the OP'S question and that is all you needed to do, but your "OPIONION" on why he had gold membership/why he wanted to cancel and why he should have waited for the apps to come from behind a paywall before he got his membership was not
needed and weather or not that the update had been known for a while, not everybody comes on to the forums or finds out about stuff like that until it goes live on the console, for an ambassador, you really do seem to have your head stuck up your own ****!!!

 

I take it you need to contact phone support in order to get a refund?
