Can I buy xbox 360 items on xbox marketplace using xbox gift card?

Sadly gift cards can not be used to buy xbox 360 games. You can use gift cards to buy xbox games, tv shows and movies through microsoft tv and movies. Really wish there was a way to combine the 360 marketplace with the xbox store. The only other way
you could play fable instead of buying the disc would be to sign up for xbox gamepass.

Since you can only purchase the Left 4 Dead games on an Xbox 360 or the Xbox 360 marketplace website, you can only use the gift card on the Xbox 360 to purchase the game, as the Xbox 360 marketplace website does not have the option to pay with the Xbox gift card.

Hey there, unfortunately you cannot gift items or buy them for other users on Xbox. It would be best to buy him a currency card instead and then he can purchase the item for himself or something else they might enjoy off the marketplace.

The only way to purchase Xbox 360 content using stored currency would be to use your account on an Xbox 360 console. Purchases made through the Xbox One store cannot be done using stored currency.

In my answer I included the credit card as method of payment and the prepaid currency cards (yes these are the gift cards) and I already stated that you can purchase (purchase as in buy for a price) avatar items through your xbox 360 and use them in your
xbox one as well.

To get the free avatar items (as in giveaways or items) you don't need a method of payment in your xbox 360.
