Can I buy games online in Egypt?

Hi All,

I recently bought Xbox one and starting from 2017 I have an Xbox live subscription that is active.

My country initially was set to USA as I was living there before, now when I moved to Egypt I kept it as USA as there was no option to change it to Egypt., it was not on the list of countries in the xbox.

Now for the month of January I was in Egypt and I was able to download the free games for Xbox one with no problem, I was also able to setup a payment option and get the Xbox 360 games with no problem.

For the month of February everything worked fine for Xbox one games but for the Xbox 360 games I always get an error message that says: sorry your purchase cannot be completed at this time, please try again later"

This happens for the Xbox 360 games that come with the Xbox live subscription and also for any game purchases I try to do from the Xbox or PC.

Is it impossible to buy any games from countries not listed in the Xbox list?

I rented it and the game has an online pass. I can only play single player unless I buy the game or buy the online pass. (No way would I ever buy an online pass) So I wouldnt know. lol

You actually can play the multiplayer without the online pass. When you get to level 15 though, the online functions get disabled.

 

No its not impossible, but keep in mind that games that require a Live service, they will not work in countries that are not supported and Egypt is one of them.
