Can I buy and play 16 rated games underage?

Thst would depend on what your parents allow you to do and your local laws. They can use the Family app to allow you to play Mature games. Or the game may work. without. restrictions. i suggest you contact the developer and ask them, as they'll know best about restrictions specific to their game.

No. An underage account is allowed to PLAY said games if the parental settings allow it, but they can't buy it themselves.

Just like in a store, parents can buy M rated games and let their kids play them, but the kids can't buy it themselves.

You can't be underage to play a game.

The age rating on a game applies to single player content & only means someone under that age can not buy the game.

It does not mean they can not play the game & age ratings do not apply to the online side of it,which every game with online tells you.

So you are underage; you're 16? Sounds like the system is working just fine. If your settings are set to allow M-rated content, you should be able to play games and movies, but demos and trailers count as advertising and are not allowed regardless of your
settings.
