    Can I buy a month of gold with my Microsoft account balance?


    I have $14.50 in my account balance after the MS points transferred over, I want to buy a month of gold with it but can't find a way how. I am currently on a gold trial account.

    On the xbox when I try to buy gold I only have the option to buy a year, so my 14.50 is not enough. When I try it on this site I can't find an option to use the money, i checked on commerce.microsoft.com but can't find a way. Is there anyway at all to use
    the money in my account to buy a single month of gold?

    Say I buy a 1 Month or a 3 Month,

    and then redeem it to my Account,and then I buy a 12 Month,and redeem it to my Account as well,

    it will add up and carry over still,right ?

    So I'd either have 13 Months of Gold with the 1 Month,or 15 Months of Gold with the 3 Month.

    Gold an only be purchased via credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid card in a store. It is not possible to use your Microsoft Account balance.

    Gold an only be purchased via credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid card in a store. It is not possible to use your Microsoft Account balance.

    Yes you can buy a 3 month gold card to get the free games for gold.

    You do not need a credit card.

    Be sure to buy a subscription card and not a microsoft credit points card, your microsoft balance can not be used to buy gold time.

    If anyone else is having this issue, the fastest way to get a solution is to speak with someone on Xbox Support: 1-800-469-9269.

    I told them my problem, and how it was not very obvious that I couldn't buy an Xbox Live Gold Membership using my Microsoft Account. They resolved my problem by emailing me a code for a free 12 months of Gold and I still have the balance on my Microsoft
    Account.

    Considering I only wanted one month of Gold, this greatly exceeded my expectations, and I am now back online.
