Can hear party chat but nothing else

So I've been using my pair of headphones for a while now an they're pretty good but when I went to play some Xbox today and plugged them in, I could only hear my the chat in my party and nothing else, not even from the home screen. I could also talk with
my friends. I have searched the Internet but I haven't found anything yet, I have made sure all my audio is turned up but I still can't hear anything. Any ideas on how to fix? I posted it under console because I didn't know if it was the Xbox playing up or
the headphones

Game chat issues

Why cant I hear anybody in game chat like in lobbies?nat is open. I can hear friends in-game and party chat works perfect but everybody else I simply cannot hear. It takes away the live experience and i believe this started after an earlier system update.I
tried every troubleshooting step out there and nothing works!

 

Xbox One Wired Headset problem

For some reason i cannot hear my friends in party chat but they can hear me. Anyone else having this problem?

Hey everyone, just had this problem, tried everything i could think involving resets, controller power cycles, unplugging then replugging the headset- nothing worked.

But then i plugged in some different headphones and it solved the problem. After the new headphones were plugged in i went back to the original headset and everything was back to normal!
