Can games be installed on pc when bought on xbox

i bought Minecraft on my xbox one with the same account and wanted to play it on my pc, because I prefer pc controls. its the same account. Minecraft has definatley been purchased and its installed so I know it worked. however when I go to my purchased
items on my Microsoft stone, Minecraft shows up as bought, but when I click on the button to take me to the Minecraft section, where I should have the option to install, it just prompts me to buy it, when on the screen before it tells me I already have bought
it. what am I doing wrong?

Some games it is possible but you have to look at the compatibility on the xbox store, but you can utilize a keyboard and mouse controls on the xbox console if you wish to try that.

Only digital games and that are in the Play Anywhere program. In this case Minecraft has a different version for Windows 10 so this can't be done with that game.

Unfortunately Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title so you would need to purchase the PC version in order to play on the PC.
