Can connect to Internet but not Xbox Live

I cannot connect to Xbox Live, yet I can connect to the internet. In Settings, under Set up wireless network I select my college Wifi and it reads that the connection is successful. Going to Test network connection I get the message It's all good. Yet when
I hit the center X button on my controller to get to the main page I am still prompted to connect to Xbox Live in a box to the right. I have restarted my console multiple times, unplugging and replugging. I have not removed my profile because I have read on
another forum message that another person with problems similar to mine cannot even get their profile to reload. I must play offline or the constant updates of games, that go nowhere with lack of Live connection, interrupts my gameplay. At times there are
Marketplace boxes and options visible on the main screen but they contain only words and gray boxes, no images.

Also, running Detailed network statistics gives me the message that I need to be connected to the Internet in the first place.

I see you're on your college's wireless internet. This may be the issue that you are running into. Not all colleges have internet that support consoles, and it may be blocking you from fully connecting. While you can connect up to the router, it sounds like
the router is blocking you from fully connecting to the internet. My main suggestion is for you to reach out to your school's IT department and see if they can whitelist your console in the router.

Give that a shot, and let us know how it goes! We'll see what else we can try once you've given it a try.

 

i have the same issues like grandsandwich but i am connected to my home wi-fi... i also tried the network from my friend but is says that it is good but it doesnt connect with xbox live. i have completly restartet my hole xbox one now and now i have to download
the software update but it stills says that the update couldnt download because of network connections... what shall i do now ???

 

I have the same problem. I tried to restore from factory, but didn't work. I can use the internet explorer, but the LIVE doesn't work.... All the connections test are good.

 

Same issue as above, all is good with network, connected to internet but cannot sign into live, keeps telling me to check network, which I do and it is fine, rinse was repeat, feel like im going insane hoping for different results.....
