can certain apps damage your Xbox one

Is that app available from the Xbox Store and can I ask why this app is cause for concern?

Whilst there is always a threat to all computers and consoles, Consoles are closed eco systems and are pretty secure in their very nature due to the requirements imposed on companies by Microsoft. I would say you should always keep all apps, games and the
system up to date with the latest versions.

There is no guarantee that any system is 100% secure as we still have that human element behind the scenes that can fail but as a user you should always be cautious and never share personal details, always choose strong passwords and follow the basics of
internet/digital safety.

I think you should be good. Developers have to get their app certified with Microsoft before being released to the Xbox Store.

The app TMX is safe for the most part it just has ads running on it and a year ago when I first use the app when I used the app to add a custom background it popped up with a gambling slot machine ad and since there is no way to make my account forget
that I installed the app it made me a little bit paranoid because I’m scared that the people who make the app remembered that I installed the app and might do bad things

Should work on your Xbox One. Only certain games and apps will support it at the moment.
