    Can anyone help.. VRR not working on msi monitor


    Hi I have an msi 271 qpx 280hz monitor hooked up to a xsx and my partner has the same monitor but 240hz. We both have our xbox settings exactly the same and the monitor set up the same apart from the 280hz monitor has "adaptive sync" the 240hz monitor has "freesync premium pro". When I play games the vrr is working fine across both monitors but when I play battlefield 6 the fps sticks on 120 on the 280hz monitor and the gameplay is so choppy but the 240hz vrr works fine. For some strange reason if I move the hdmi lead over to the 240hz monitor and load BF6 then change it back to the 280hz monitor then the vrr will work fine and gameplay is smooth. I've deleted the game and re installed but still does the same. I've tryed multiple different settings but nothing seems to work other then loading the game through the 240hz monitor. Does any1 know why this would be the case and if there is a way to fix it as dont want to keep having to unplug the hdmi and wear it out over time. Thanks

    Will a 1080p 165hz monitor with an hdmi 1.4 be able to run 120fps from a xbox series s?

    ignore him, you need a monitor that supports the 120hz mode for consoles too, needs to be hdmi 1.4 and above (1.4b for hdr). i use a msi mag artymis 324cp which is a 165hz curved screen 32", it works perfect on xbox one s and the series consoles and series works with 120hz on it with vrr too.

    So for this monitor i can either run 1440p with 60 without vrr or 1080p with 60 with vrr correct ?

    Will there be any future software update from xbox to support such non timed resolutions to make vrr work at 1440p?

    How to enable variable refresh rate?

    May I also point out that to enable VRR (Variable Refresh rate), you also need VRR capable TV or monitor.

    VRR works on both 60Hz and 120Hz.

    So the 1080p 120fps will work with that monitor, but VRR will not ?

    I need hdmi 2.1 for vrr? I cant use the free sync?

    it will work fine including vrr, you don't need hdmi 2.0/2.1 for 1080p 120hz vrr.

    that monitor is also tested to work with series x and ps5.
