Can a Minecraft server harm you're computer?

I'm Samy an independent advisor and I'll be helping you :D

    How are you, mate?

It is very unlikely that you will somehow suffer an attack because you are connected to a Minecraft server.

The problem with the game on the network

    Hi ,

Let's try to isolate this issue so that we could figure out why you're getting the said error message when connecting to the game server. Kindly provide us the following information:

    • Can you tell if you're trying to play Minecraft game on your Windows 10 computer?
    • If you're using Windows 10 to play the game, kindly check the Network status in the Xbox app?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far to fix the issue?
Hello! As for the first question. Yes I have as I said Minecraft license on a computer running Windows 10, and also have a license on a phone running Android 5.x. I start the server on the computer, and here will connect to this server from phone I cannot,
gives out this error. If I do the same on the phone, ie create a server and try to connect to it, when you first try to get an error, but the second attempt still succeed. But I certainly need all the same that the server would work on the computer.

As for the second question, not quite understood on a computer with a network everything is fine, in the Xbox app I'm also authorized under his account Windows 10, which actually bought Minecraft. Tried to run both through the Windows 10 applications, and
from the Xbox, i.e. the game authorization as everything is normally present. And from the phone, the server in the friends section is perfectly visible, except that it can not be connected because of an error. If need something else to check, please clarify.

As for the last question. In other things, nothing special was not taken, rebooted the computer, and it happened to help with such problems, rebooted the same router (Internet), just reinstalled Minecraft, downloaded the latest update,
respectively, on both devices, moved to XBox and so on. In General, before that everything was fine, but even before the update Minecraft has become such nonsense. Please help me.

How do you create a server in Miencraft Windows 10 edition?

There are a couple of different options that you have. Depends on what version of Minecraft you're on (Bedrock, specific platform versions, Java, etc). But you can rent a realm, or set up a server.

The benefit of a realm is that it's a third party hosting solution, so it'll be online even when you're not, and you can still control details about it, such as access lists and what not. Downside is there is a subscription cost associated with that.

The benefit of a server is that you host it locally, and have further control over it. You can also look into other non-realm third party hosts for minecraft, that will host the server for you, and allow you certain controls for it, but those also have
a cost associated to them to the third party host. The downside is that whatever computer is hosting the server would need to be online for users to connect to it. You'd still be paying for power and what not, but would not be a full subscription cost.

A few sites that I've seen that might have more specific information for you on this topic would be

    Reddit thread, as well.

Minecraft Java on Windows 10 - Servers ping forever, and if i try to join one i get stuck in the "Connecting to server" screen forever

Hello, I'm Felipe and I'm an independent Community Expert, and I'll do my best to help you.

This issue with Minecraft servers can be caused by several factors, including firewall blocking, outdated Java version, or DNS cache problems. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Disable Firewall: Firewall can block incoming connections to the Minecraft server. To disable the Windows Firewall, go to the Windows Start menu, select "Control Panel," then "System and Security," and click on "Windows Defender Firewall." Select "Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off" and make sure the firewall is turned off for both private and public networks.

Update Java: Make sure you have the latest version of Java installed. You can download the latest version of Java from the official Java website.

Clear DNS cache: Clearing your computer's DNS cache can sometimes resolve issues with connecting to servers. To clear your DNS cache, open Command Prompt as an administrator, and type "ipconfig /flushdns". Then press "Enter".

Change DNS server: Try changing your computer's DNS server to a different one. You can do this by going to the Windows Start menu, select "Control Panel," then "Network and Sharing Center," and click on "Change adapter settings." Right-click on your active network adapter and select "Properties," then select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)," and click on "Properties." Choose "Use the following DNS server addresses," and enter the preferred and alternate addresses provided by your new DNS server.

Disable VPN: If you're using a VPN, try disabling it to see if it's interfering with your ability to connect to Minecraft servers.

Reinstall Minecraft: If none of the above steps work, try reinstalling Minecraft. Uninstall Minecraft completely, including any saved game files, and then reinstall it.

I hope these steps will help resolve the issue you're having with connecting to Minecraft servers. If the problem persists, you can reach out to the Minecraft support team for further assistance.
