someone has just posted to me that they are trying to use a keyboard with pug G I told them it will not work because on the console version it's only for the controllers not for a keyboard, is this true or is this false...

Can a mouse and keyboard be used on Xbox One?

A mouse is not supported at all as of 12/3/15 and keyboard support is limited but more support was added to the dashboard as of the November update to NXOE. Game support and app support for keyboard will be based on the specific game or app and what each
developer has decided to offer.

There are ideas around bringing full mouse and keyboard support to the system but I've not seen where any plans are confirmed that mouse and keyboard support would exist in games.

Can a mouse and keyboard be used on Xbox One?

A keyboard can be used to navigate the dashboard and input text. Useful for messaging or surfing the web on Edge. I've never tried a mouse, but I would think the use would be limited. Neither can be used to control games.

I have read Microsoft are supposed to be adding keyboard and mouse support but the game developers will need to decide if there game supports it or not.

i've heard you can get aftermarket adapters but don't think they very responsive best waiting for Microsoft to release there product probably this year i did see a mouse keyboard thing they were most likely going to do, it would be good for command and conquer
games or age of empires and i reckon would make games more accessible to be ported from Pc, but we just gotta play the waiting game now.

A USB keyboard does work with the xbox but it's just for entering text, not for gaming.

Some games on the Xbox One or Series X|S do support keyboard and mouse. So if you use a keyboard and mouse just by plugging them into the usb ports on the Xbox console, then no it is not a bannable offense. It can be though if you use an unofficial adapter to play on games that do not support keyboard and mouse.

Yes, you can play Rainbow Six Siege with a keyboard and mouse on Xbox Series X/S.

Connect your keyboard and mouse to your Xbox Series X/S console. You can connect them directly to the console's USB ports or use a USB hub if you need more ports.

Once your keyboard and mouse are connected, start up Rainbow Six Siege on your Xbox Series X/S.

In the game's main menu, navigate to the Options menu.

From the Options menu, select the Controls tab.

From the Controls tab, select the Controller Type option.

Change the Controller Type to Mouse and Keyboard.

Customize your keyboard and mouse settings to your liking.
