Can a "gUest" account be created/moved as its own profile?

I have a Gold account and years ago we set my son up as a Guest account on xbox360. We now want to give him his own child account as we move to the Xbox One and want to create his profile without losing his "Guest" account information. Can that be done?
Do we need to start with a new Child account for him and lose his past couple years of playing? thanks

You can take 2 types of guests online , i thought.

1- An account that you created on your xbox wich has to be gold for online play even as a guest.

2-or just the guest account that you should be able to select (the bottom one). should be called just guest.

with that acount you can always play as guest if the game provides guest play online.

@GG sorry I thought this was a XO forum, according to MS on the Xbox one you have a guest accounts.

Maybe use the correct wording in the title to avoid confusing.

I sign into my xbox one with my account details, which gives me access to my profile, so your right there is a difference, but you can't share your profile without sharing your account.

No, you can not make your offline profile into a Gamertag. This is because it's a child account as you stated above. If it is not a child account, you can follow these steps here:

Hi there!

When trying to play local multiplayer for Joy Ride Turbo, do you have to sign in the guest from within the game in the Xbox 360 emulator? Or did you create a guest account on the Xbox One and the created guest account is not signing in?

I suggest trying to create a guest account through the Xbox One system and see if it let's you use that guest account:

If this second player plays with you a lot or if the guest account still does not work, then I recommend just creating another Microsoft Account and then add it to the Xbox to create an Xbox profile for it. It doesn't cost anything at all to create a Microsoft
Account and there are many benefits to having one for the second player so they can easily sign in along with your own account.

I'm afraid that the offline profile option that was available on the Xbox 360 no longer is available on the newer Xbox consoles.

The only way to create a Guest account (the 'copy' with (1)) is mentioned on the steps on this support page:

https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/account-profile/manage-account/set-up-and-use-guest-account which doesn't save progress etc.

You could also consider creating a secondary account owned and managed by you, that your guests can use on your console when playing coop.

Ever profile has its own gamerscore. Maybe you even have played with the guest profile. Guest profile are not saying the gamerscore.

Yes, have your guests add their account(s) and sign in with their own accounts and play games under their own accounts while they are visiting. Any progress they have in games they have played will be there since their is a game saved to the cloud as well
as on their console.

Before they leave, they can remove their profile(s) from your console.

You son can add a
passcode to his account to avoid anyone logging into his account while the guests are visiting.
