Francia J. thanks for the above suggestions. I completed the 4 steps above, and also decided tried resetting (it did keep my pins and groups!). However, the same error message keeps coming up after all that work! thanks again I appreciate you trying to assist me!

Hi FredLouderman, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

Please perform a reset on your console keeping your games and apps. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

Hi, I followed the steps you mentioned and when I tired to log back in, everything is gone. I chose “reset console with games/apps” but when I logged in it looks like a brand new profile. In turn, my son has lost everything. What do I do to recover? Please keep in mind I’m a single mom and my son is nine and following these steps has pretty much ruined his Christmas because I don’t know anything about this and rely on threads like this for help. I need very basic instructions. Thank you!

Francia J., thank you very much for responding. I am a little nervous about resetting the console. Could you clarify another question about resetting the xbox? I understand that it will keep all my games and apps but will it also keep how my groups and pins are setup? I have put a lot of work in organizing my hundreds of games, which I would prefer not to have to redo. If it's that much work to get this game running, I might just ask for a refund.
