Call of duty keeps crashing on the home page after season 2 update

Please try the following steps one at a time to resolve the issue:



Solution 1: Do a power cycle to clear the cache of the console



1. Turn off the Xbox console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.

2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

3. Plug the console power cable back in.

4, Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox console.

Solution 2: Check for any pending game updates.



Go to “My Apps & Games”, select Call of Duty, and press the more options button. From the list, select “Manage game & add-ons” and then “Updates”. Any updates will be available here.

Solution 3: Try to uninstall and reinstall the game.



Solution 4: Do a factory reset



1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select System > Settings > System > Console info.

3. Select Reset console.

4. Reset and keep my games & apps.

Same is happening for many on Reddit. I have a friend's account on my Xbox Series X and I can load up the game just fine using his profile. Crashes every time at the intro video when I use my profile. So I unlinked and then linked my account and that did not help. Some have dleted the game and re-installed and that did not help. I have held down the Xbox button to reset but will now try unplugging. Since we have tried all the possible steps here to sort out the issue. There seems to be an issue with the game only. Would it be fine if you can try contacting Activision support for further advice? I did all of that before receiving this message & afterwards it's still crashing

I am very sorry for the problems you are having with Call of Duty MW3. I understand that it is frustrating not being able to play a game that you were looking forward to so much.

There appears to be an issue with the Call of Duty MW3 Season 1 update that is causing the game to crash on Xbox Series X.

The game's developers, Activision, are aware of the issue and are working on a fix.

They have posted an update on their support page that says the following:

"We are aware of an issue that is causing Call of Duty MW3 to crash on Xbox Series X after the Season 1 update.

We are working on a fix and will post it as soon as it is available."

At the time of writing, the solution is not yet available. However, Activision has said that it should be available soon.
