Did PETA or any health nuts get on the case of the game when the Bacon Add-on came out?

All this is a cash grab, Activision Hoping that many of the players will be dumb enough to purchase this stuff.

They know what a portion of their fan base likes.

Just look at the create an emblem features for online and you will find a lot worse than some plants.

    I would say so what,

most games these days have drug references, examples being GTA 5, Payday 2 and then you have other games.

end of the day people have a choice not to buy it and people have a choice to buy it,

what people don't have a right to is force their moral compass on to others Call of Duty: Ghosts gets drug related DLC! ;)

and people and parents who buy violent video games for under 18s

don't really have a leg to stand on when it comes to minors being exposed to this, there is a reason games come with age ratings on them :/

Regarding GTA V and this new DLC for Ghosts....I think it's different.

Again...it's context. GTA V the character that smoked it was part of the story or characterization of the character.

This new DLC is more like just advertising it with a banner type deal. Wearing a bandana with weed all over it isn't exactly a artistic decision. It's just a money grab.

I was surprised when I saw it, and I never expected it. I guess that it's just to do something a little different. I don't use it, but doesn't bother me.

    @Sword

I have smoked marijuana back in my teen days, but I don't think having 3/4 tokes counts. So, while I have never experienced being stoned, I have dealt with plenty of people who have been stoned, and some of those people had a
delayed reaction. The research I have done on marijuana was not reading stuff from forums, I went onto the NHS website. That is what I was trying to say, driving while under the influence of marijuana is a bad idea and can lead to a road incident.

I have not played Call of Duty for a very long time now, but most players I have come across have seemed inexperienced because of their slow reaction time. Don't worry, I don't believe everything I am told on the internet. Like
you I am also speaking from experience and from what I have read from hospital websites like the NHS.

Violent crime may have gone down, I don't think anyone is surprised about that, but if more states and countries legalise marijuana the number of people stoned behind the wheel will most likely increase because more people will
have access to the drug. I think if those states that legalised marijuana were to make it illegal again, there would be a riot. Same thing with alcohol, it kills a lot of people and we still have access to it.

    @24

Looks like we can all have a discussion without insulting each other Call of Duty: Ghosts gets drug related DLC! :). Oh great, the troll ICN3D is here, just kidding mate! Call of Duty: Ghosts gets drug related DLC! :)

Microsoft did extensive research analyzing Kenetic and mic sound patterns,

35% of the sounds are water bongs, 10% coughing, 5% other, 50% voice.

  10. 24hrs - Freedom: I will shout to my dying breath opposing what you would shout to your dying breath defending.

There is no compromising my position. When family members were jailed for having a "joint." They knew from experience not to call me to get them out. Even though I had the means to get them out, even on the weekends B4 they even saw a Judge on Monday.

Marijuana is a socially rotten drug, and I've seen enough lives "wasted" over the decades to haunt me for the rest of my natural born days.

As for "made up." You haven't a clue of what you're defending.

  11. A bit late to the conversation here, but I might as well throw in my 2 cents ..... or maybe even a buck or two.

As someone who drank way more than their share of alcohol, smoked more than my share of pot and did a bit of just about everything else ......... along with 13 years now of freedom from all of it ..... I can speak from experience.

First of all, anyone who says marijuana doesnt impair judgement or reflexes doesnt know what they are talking about or is flat out lying. But if somehow I was told that one of my children were going to abuse alcohol or pot and it was up to me to decide
which one, it would be an easy decision. I've heard hundreds of horror stories about cocaine, heroin, meth etc ..... heard hundreds of stories and lived the horror of alcohol addiction ......... and one ...... yes ONE "horror" story about pot. I'm sure there
are more, but when I say hundreds of stories I'm not exaggerating, when I say horror stories I'm not exaggerating..... and that one story I heard about the evils of pot amounting to a guy doing some stealing to pay his dealer, and not beeing able to pass a
pee test to save his job or keep him out of hot water hardly compares.

Alcohol is one of the most addictictive drugs out there and one of the few that can kill you from withdrawal from it. I can tell you personal stories of halucinations and delusions of beeing attacked by disappearing bats, tearing apart my home trying
to find the hidden "radio" that kept playing, battling with all I had against a half dozen people who I thought were trying to kill me as they tried strapping me to a hospital bed, shaking so bad I couldnt write my own name without a risk of stabbing myself
with the pen or pencil. Hard drugs?.. no, ..... pot? ..no ...... alcohol? ..sort of. It was the lack of it that cause all those things. , Responsibility isnt even a point to make. When you are under the influence of any such substance, responsibility is
the first thing to go out the window.

Marijuana a gateway drug? ...... Its a bs concept. If you polled 1000 car thieves if they had broken the speed limit before they had ever stolen a car. I'd bet at least 99% would affirm they had. But yet we dont say speeding is a gateway crime to being
    a car thief.

How about the guy lacing his pot with other stuff? Well, chances are more likely the problem arises when his pot is laced with something before he bought it, without his knowledge..... something not as likeley to happen with it being legalized and regulated.
And while I dont know that I'd condone the legalization of other drugs, an overseeing body that regulated the strengths of such drugs would probably cut a large portion of the deaths from overdoses.

Crime, murders ets that are drug related ..... just pick up a history book and look where prohibition led ( along with the unregulated dosages as meantioned above killing people) Should pot be legalized ..... I think the better question is what in history
gives us any logical reasoning why it shouldnt.

All that aside really leads us to the real question here. Does it belong in the game? Not really. But moreso than ducks, wolves, space cats and aliens. How many terrorists and warlords are funded by illegal drug money. It is no doubt a stick of political
dynamite and wars are more about politics than anything else.

One thing is for certain. Be it hard drugs, pot or alcohol ...... none of them mix well with vehicles or firearms. If you are going to indulge in any of them, leave the car keys hanging on the wall and the gun locked safely in a cabinet or lockbox.

Call of Duty: Ghosts gets drug related DLC!

Fact: Drug addicts are going to get Marijuana legalized in most every state.

Fact: Marketing drug related imaging, such as marijuana via a games DLC isn't the Parents fault, it's the game developers fault. For...

Fact: Game devs knew what they are doing. While 99.9% of parents (Unless they visit these forums constantly) have no clue whats actually being pushed onto their children via online gaming.

Fact: Marketing such ilk via DLC is a form of Subliminal Messaging. Which is in, and of itself. ILLEGAL throughout the US.

Final Fact: I was going to buy CoD Ghosts, and Black Ops 2 to add to my collection of Xbox 360 games. But after carefully pondering what's actually going on in the minds of devs these days. I wouldn't give them 1 cent for both games now.

Thank you OP for bringing this to my attention.
