Call of Duty download not working

Good day everyone, I have been having an issue I really need assistance with. I recently downloaded Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for backwards compatibility, but everytime I open the game I get an error saying to clean the disc and restart my console.
This is extremely aggravating as this is my one favorite game and I cant even play it. And microsoft support basically told me to go [Mod Removed - Profanity] and refuse to refund my purchase on their broken download. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this
please?

i am trying to download call of duty, advanced warfare digital content with my discount code and its not working. please help asap.

 

can not download game disc

i bought a call of duty ghost and several other games they all download except call of duty and i have plenty of storage. i have uninstalled and reinstalled but still will not download.

I know you said you said you have restarted your console, but did you do a complete

power cycle of the console?

Yes, there is a difference. The power cycle requires pressing (and holding) the power button on the console until it shuts down. Then waiting a moment and powering it back on.

When ever I get a game (doesn't matter which one) that doesn't want to launch (and it doesn't happen often), the full power cycle clears it up.

 

Yes I've tried all the troubleahooting methods when I contacted MS Support. Nothing worked. I tried each method at least twice but the message still wont go away

 

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.

If that doesn't work try uninstalling/reinstalling the complete game.

If none of the previous solutions fixed the problem and you still can't play a particular disc, go to

Xbox One game disc exchange to learn how to replace a
Microsoft game. For non-Microsoft games, contact the game's publisher about their game disc replacement policy.

I would do a hard reset on Xbox Console, Unplug the router and wait for 30 seconds as well your Xbox console is totally off. Plug in the router plug and let get back up again and turn on your console. I would do a delete the game and reinstall the game.
Make sure NAT is open as well.

 

I tried but nothin changed. Thanks for the help everyone but I'm giving up on it. Nothing is going to make it work apparently. Definitely a waste of money.

Sorry to hear about the game not working, MW2 is my all time favorite CoD and I know you can't wait to get back into Favela, Rust, Highrise and all the crazy maps. I see you have done quite a bit of troubleshooting already, by any chance have you tried a

factory reset?

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select System.
5. Select Console info & updates.
6. Select Reset console.

Make sure to select "Keep my games and Apps" as well as to know your email and password as you will have to log back in. Let us know if this helps!
