  1. Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC glitch - Xbox 360 game on Xbox One, backwards compatibility

I would like to preface this to say that it is lengthy in order to be very specific about the issue, and to clarify that I am not upset with my experience and would simply like to find a solution to my problem. I am very thankful for the support agents that have helped me thus far in trying to solve this, and have nothing but praise for those who take the time to help people like me in the community.

I am having an issue when trying to install my purchased map packs for this game. There are 6 available in total, and a season pass as well. I have purchased all of the items and have successfully played them on the Xbox 360. The situation of these on the Xbox One is different. The season pass functions, and two of the DLC “Nuketown Zombies” and “Nuketown 2025” both download, install, and are playable. The remaining four map packs are experiencing a glitch. The method of installing is to go to the Xbox One home screen and to select the game and select “manage game and add-ons”, where all of the DLC is visible for installation. However, those four remaining map packs all show the same file size of 29.93MB. This is incorrect, as in the game, the correct size of each DLC is shown, each around 1-2GB. They are most definitely not all the same size, or that small. Then, when I do choose to install the small files for them, (unsurprisingly) nothing shows up in the game. The other two DLC related to Nuketown do show the correct file size in the add-on management screen, however, and again, both install and work fine - they show up in game and are playable. It is isolated to those four other map packs.

I have reached out to Xbox support a few times and have been guided through the troubleshooting process from start to finish - with the end of it being my support agents saying they are unable to fix the issue and to contact the game developer Activision for further assistance, which I have done as well.

These troubleshooting steps have been deleting my Xbox 360 profile and redownloading it, clearing the Xbox 360 local storage and saved gamed, uninstalling the game and its add-ons and reinstalling it, clearing my Xbox One cache, shutting off the xbox and unplugging it and waiting a few minutes before restarting it, changing my privacy and content filters from adult to teen and back to adult, and uninstalling the game and doing a system reset of the Xbox One itself (keeping games and apps), then logging back into my profiles and setting up, and then installing the game again and attempting to download the DLC. There is no more that chat support can seem help me with past this point, and I would think my only other option is to system reset again but with a full wipe of my games and apps too, which I will not do and also highly doubt would fix the issue.

I don’t know if this is an isolated issue to my console and account, I can only find one other post on another support forum on here where someone experienced the same issue with a different game - it was never resolved. I am confident I am attempting to install everything correctly, that I own the DLC, and that I have exhausted most if not all of the troubleshooting i can do as the user. I am only here as a last resort effort to cover my bases and see if someone with more authority and knowledge on the issue can see this and figure out if there is a wider-scale bug with the DLC in this game or in backwards compatible games in general, and to see if they can provide a solution. Since this will be posted here, and to Activision as well, I hope one of the two parties can locate and remedy the problem. I would simply like to enjoy being able to use the content that I’ve purchased. If it cannot be used anymore due to a bug that is seemingly unknown and unfixable, I would also like to know that and explore a way that we can remedy my having spent money on the DLC and the DLC not being accessible for use - fixing the issue sounds good to me. I do recognize that there are no refunds, but I do think there has to be some better alternative to a situation where I find an issue that clearly seems to stem from the developer’s or Xbox’s side of things, it is not fixable or is left unaddressed, and I am left without what I paid for.

    :)
