CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS 4

My husband downloaded Call of Duty Black Ops 4 - has played previous of Call of Duty games.

When he goes to Seaside Control he is by himself, no team and he is asked to capture Zones A and B but he is shooting at nothing as no enemies appear?

Also he cannot select Blackout

Is his disc faulty?

I'm sorry to hear about this issue being experienced by your husband while playing Black Ops 4. I'd be happy to help!

Before we consider the disc to be faulty, we should try some troubleshooting on the Xbox and game installation as there may be some corruption that may need to be cleared out.

Let's start of with a complete
power cycle.

1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
   
2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 5 minutes.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

Try that out and let us know the results!

Did as you suggested and it helped somewhat. Since I don't play the game but watched what was happening I will try. He now has people with him when he plays Seaside but none of his weapons appear to
kill the enemy? Like he says in previous Call of Duty Games his weapons killed the enemy but these ones don't? He still cannot play Blackout - Multiplayer and Zombies can be selected but not Blackout. He is finding this new game so frustrating he wants
to just put it away and go back to his previous games.

Is there anything like how to play this new game he could look at. We are senior citizens but that hasn't stopped him playing many games before.

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated - I'm not a gamer - just a watcher!!!

Thank you for reaching out, we'll try our best to get your husband back to his running and gunning! I am a huge Call of Duty fan and of course I've been playing this one nonstop since it released. From the update you graciously provided, it seems his experience
has somewhat improved but 1/3 of the game is locked and "Multiplayer" has issues. You mentioned he is able to see other players but his guns aren't killing them? It sounds like connection issue. I've been in a position where I shoot a player 10+ times but
none of the bullets register. If this rings a bell, try running a
network test by going into Settings>Network>Network Settings>Test Multiplayer Connection. Let us know the results!

Did the network test and came back saying connection was moderate but if having problems connecting with other players, there was an option. However my husband does not play with other players. Went
back to game - Seaside Control - bullets seem to be a bit better but he felt game was extremely fast! Is there a Seaside Game you would recommend? Also still does not have option of selecting Blackout. Multiplayer and Zombies can be selected for play
but not Blackout. Is this because he has not yet managed to get through Seaside?

Is there such a thing as a tutorial for this game? He is beginning to think this game is meant for professional players and not for people like him. It is so frustrating because my daughter bought it
for his birthday knowing how much fun he has had playing his other Call of Duty games.

Thank you so much for the response. I think I know what is going on. You mentioned your husband doesn't play with other players, this is why the game seems basic at times. Unlike every other Call of Duty prior, Black Ops 4 has no campaign/story mode, so
for someone who doesn't play online, this limits the capabilities of this game. The "Blackout" game mode is solely online multiplayer so it wont be accessible unless he decides to start playing online. The "Zombies" game mode is all about fighting AI enemies
so there is nothing stopping him from playing it to its fullest. The major part of Call of Duty has always been "Multiplayer." "Seaside" is a map in the game and "Control" is a game mode. He should be able to select different combinations of game modes (Team
Deathmatch, Heist, Free for All etc) and maps (Jungle, Summit, Slums, etc). The reason the game seems fast is because it is! The developers have really stepped it up making this one of, if not the most competitive shooters out there. So pretty much, this game
is heavily favorable towards gamers who play online with others, but it still gives you the freedom of enjoying big chunks of it through it's 2 core game modes. I hope this clears some things up. If you have further questions we will be more than happy to
