Call Me Kwazy But I Just Pre-Ordered Overwatch!

I checked out all NZ retail stores and it will be available to buy tomorrow first thing when they open. We don't have to wait for the US to play catch up to our time. It's 5:10 pm Monday NZ time 23 May. It'll show on your Xbox 1, but it will say "You may
pre-download this game, but it will not be playable until 00:01".

For some reason I've never had much candy. I know kids get braces possibly cuz of eating too much sweets, but I've never had or needed braces. But I like cake. And it's proven that chocolate can improve your mental health too ^u^. I think Genchy told me
to "^ lay off the sugar...." in a post I made in a thread called "party etiquette". But I think he was kidding. I guess you can tell who's parties are going to be boring and who's parties are going to be f-u-n and lively.

 

this game was great fun.. for all of 30 minutes before you found out there is little to no content in it.

Hopefully Blizzard support it well and that may make more people want to buy it but as a new title i refuse to pay full price for it.

 

Folks should bow to your superior gamer skills sir.

Mastering the nuances of 21 different characters in a 30 minute gaming stint is no small feat!

All joking aside though are you telling me that this game is banking on the Gameplay being entertaining rather than rewarding me pouring hours of my time with a shiny new Pocket Rocket-Launcher or Airstrike Perk?

That if I want to see a difference in how the game plays I have to start playing smarter and improve?

They're a funny bunch this Blizzard aren't they.

 

I got it this morning from JB Hi Fi. There was a 3GB update. I'm off to do a YouTube video XD.

I just played about 60 minutes of online time with it.

THIS IS MY NEW NUMBER ONE FAVOURITE GAME ON XBOX 1.

The graphics look wow. The frame rate is butter smooth. The characters I love. I recorded 2 videos of gameplay with my Hauppauge HD PVR2. I just need to edit and upload those videos to YouTube. I have not played the Beta. This game I <3 more than any game

So when I got home from work tonight this worked so... it came out early here since that meant I played it on Monday. With that said, it is fun... but then I saw there was a new
TMNT game and I started downloading that. lol

 

Overwatch is my new number 1 most favourite game out of all my games I have on Xbox (Xbox 360 and Xbox 1). The graphics look so good. The frame rate butter smooth. The characters I love love.

 

.... and there's already many peps playing this game online on Xbox 1. I recorded my gameplay with my Hauppauge HD PVR2 so just editing and uploading to YouTube. Thank goodness my internet (Vodafone) can do a stable 10mb/sec upload speed even on wireless
connection. So it will only take minutes instead of hours to upload a few 30 minute full HD videos to YouTube.

 

@Az - you dont need to master them all when a few have more than enough rounded skills to overcome any other character.

As i said, the game was silky smooth, looked great and played great but you can only play attack and defend so many times before getting bored.

unless anyone can tell me that they've added decent modes such as capture the flag etc?

If I only had one game (and I'm not trying to cheekily suggest or imply you only have one game) I suppose I might get bored but I don't.

You don't have to master all the characters if you don't want to but it won't hurt if you want to win.

It's great how the characters really compliment each other.

All characters, even "all rounders" have good advantages over some characters but are weak against others.

But throw in the right buff or support at the right time can even or even flip the miss-match.

But I can still see your point. They do have more stuff planned but the only concrete information they've given about new characters and levels that they are releasing is that they're not going to charge for it.

 

i think its great news that they arent planning to charge for new stuff, a brilliant move by the devs. just hope they introdcue more variety in game modes too.

CTF would be perfect fit as youd have offensive and defensive players (which the character selection would suit)

 

Started to broaden my reppatoire of characters to include different ones from the different class types as well as jumping into actual player vs player (the game starts you off as humans vs A.I.).

Brilliant game. Death is a little like "Dark Souls" in that if you pay attention to the kill cam you just might learn something about how and why you died.

 

What I have been enjoying is that I started using Mercy, I get 1 to 2 kills a game but I can make a huge difference from just sitting behind healing and rezzing. Game has been loads of fun can't wait for the ranked mode which is coming soon.

 

Blizzard look like they are carefully grooming the "Overwatch" Community.

I think they know exactly what they're doing with the play modes they have out now and that would be steering people a little extra hard to understand that this is a "Team" game and the importance of "Objective" play.

There is an article on the BBC's website that says Blizzard are hoping this becomes a big deal in Competative gaming.

D.Va is apparently not only a nod to the way some professional gaming Teams name themselves, apparently here Mech is covered in sponsors like you'd find in Korean MLG tournaments.

It's apparently quite a big business. At first it seems crazy to think that people would watch gaming as a 'sport' (to be honest it still seems both pretentious and ridiculous to me) but then look at how many people gobble up stuff on Youtube.
