  1. Cable connection

We keep getting a message to check cable connection. We have checked the connection, used a new HDMI cable, used a different TV, but keep getting a screen that says it is not connected. I have tried holding the power button to do a cold reset. I tried holding
the power and eject until I heard the second set of beeps. I have unhooked and rehooked. Help!!

    :)

How to Connect Internet Cable directly to Xbox 360

    Hi everybody.

So recently I've been experiencing a lot of lag on CoD, i.e, whenever I join a game I get 2-bar and 3-bar connections. So I decided to search for some solutions. I read somewhere that I can fix this problem by directly connecting my Xbox to the router using an Ethernet cable. Now the problem arises as I do not possess an Ethernet cable.
Currently, I have a cable through which Internet is supplied (It's a Fibrenet connection, which uses Optical Fibres for transmitting the Internet) and this cable is connected to a router which provides me WiFi.
I was wondering if I can connect my Internet Cable directly to the Xbox 360 without Ethernet cables.
(The cable looks exactly like an Ethernet cable so it can fit into the Ethernet jack of the Xbox, so that problem is covered.)

EDIT : I connected the Internet Cable to the Xbox but when I tested connection, It does not connect to Internet. Help

Original Xbox 360- four Flashing red lights- Solutions

When the Original Xbox 360 Console doesn’t recognize an audio/video (A/V) cable, the four red lights around the power button flash red.

To troubleshoot the problem, follow the steps bellow:

    Reset the A/V cable connections

The A/V cable that connects the console to your television might be problematic. You need to check the cable. There might be problem with the connection. So, reset the cable connection to see if the problem is fixed.

    Here is how:

    • First, you need to turn off your console and television.
    • Then, you have to disconnect the cable from the A/V port on the back of your console.
    • You also have to unplug the A/V connectors from your television.
    • Now reconnect the A/V cable to the A/V port on your console.
    • You also need to plug the A/V connectors back into your television.
    • After connecting the cable properly, turn on your television and console to check out.
If the four lights still flash red, you’ll have to change the cable.

    Use a different Cable

First, use a different A/V cable to figure out if there is a problem with the cable or with your console. You can borrow a friend’s working cable or you can buy a new Xbox 360 A/V cable from a store or from the Xbox online catalog.

After performing all above, if the problem exists, you should contact Xbox Support.

    Hdmi cable not connecting

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello Zuka, Have you tried any procedure like changing the HDMI connection port on the TV, if it is in the HDMI 1 port, put it in the HDMI 2 port for example.

And on the console try to do a reset on the console keeping games and apps.

    Xbox One reset keeping Games:

Press the Xbox button to open the panel.

Select system > Settings > System > Console Information

    Select Reset console.

Restore and maintain my games and apps.

Rest assured, you won't miss games or saves

Note: You need to know the email and passwords of your accounts when performing this reset.

    cable connection mandatory?

@phantom2k83 I think they meant places where the TV tuners were not already supported. I already do it with 360 and a freeview tuner, quite a lot of people do. Media centre has being doing this for years. Some places have not got digital TV though, they
will have to wait probably. If it didn't work in the UK MS would be going backwards. LOL

    From reserve now info link

720p or higher HDMI-compatible TV. To receive live TV via broadcast or cable, supported receiver device (television tuner or cable/satellite set top box) with HDMI output and HDMI cable required (all sold separately).

    cable connection mandatory?

Well TV funtions should be possible. I live in UK I have a freeview DVR with HDMI out. TV guide will probably download from the internet like it does with Media centre. I use a TV dongle in my laptop, and watch on 360 while in a party. via Media centre.
This means my Daughter and I can watch the same TV program and chat in a party. I don't see why there needs to be any roll out.

    cable connection mandatory?

yeah i think people dont realize how long ms has been putting work into tv with windows media center.

    -

this isnt a new concept for them that they will have to work through to figure things out. they have already done that part.

    -

another thing to note is you will be able to use over the air broad casts as well. though you will need an antenna and tuner.

    cable connection mandatory?

    No its not mandatory.

In fact it's your cable box that would be connected to the xbox but it is not mandatory.

The TV features are totally optional
