Cable Box not being detected by Xbox one X

I just bought a brand new Xbox one x on Amazon. The first few days everything was working great. Then today I kept getting an error message every-time I open up One Guide. The message is a picture of the back of the xbox and says it doesn't detect an HDMI
connection. I know its not the HDMI because it works just fine when I plug it directly into the TV (I also tried multiple cables). I also tried plugging in my Apple TV and the xbox doesn't detect that either. Ive tried pretty much everything, including power
cycling my xbox and my cable box. I also turned off "allow 24 hz" Ive tried lowering the resolution of the cable box and nothing, Weirdly, If I power cycle the cable box while its still plugged into the xbox, it looks like its about to start working, then
freezes on the AT&T load screen.

Here is my set up... Xbox is plugged into my Vizio Soundbar (Atmos version) my sound bar is plugged into my TV. Anybody experience anything like this? Is there a fix for this or did I get a defective Xbox?

Can you try to connect Xbox directly to TV (so in this way you have also less input lag) and use your SoundBar via HDMI ARC ?

So are you saying you plugged your cable box into the HDMI passthrough on the One X?

If the cable box is defaulting to a lower resolution when connected into the Xbox One X's HDMI passthrough, you should be able to adjust the display output in the cable box's settings menu.

To clarify, did you previously set up a cable box with your Xbox One? I was under the impression your Xbox One was not detecting your TV.

When cable box goes through xbox one x the picture quality is degraded compared to when it is connected to tv straight. Not really resolution, theres more noise in the picture. Tried switching hdmi cables, inputs. Hopefully it can be corrected via software
update.

Since the Xbox auto detects the cable box, it never gets to the step where it attempts to turn the box on or off.

I just turned off native mode, and power cycled the Xbox. Still no fix. If it's true what you say about directv no longer being compatible, that'd really be a shame
