    Hi,

    So, I ordered myself a XBOX One - Sunset Overdrive Bundle (without Kinect, white) and tried booting it up for the first time yesterday.

    I had to install an update first, the noise the console made during the process was really annoying (another user described his console sounding like an old printer or floppy disk drive, which comes pretty close to describing how mine did). After the update,
    on the dashboard, the static was pretty much gone, however, after a tedious process of having my downloads stop (probably due to attacks on xbox live?) almost every minute and not being able to start up the software itself ("you need to be online..."), I finally
    got Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros running today.

    As soon as the software loaded, the XBOX started making this sound:

    From a little research this problem supposedly was only to occur on the dashboard - for me, on the dashboard, the console is pretty quiet (just regular fan noise) - however, it always starts with the buzzing once i start MGS: V.

    So, from what I have read in another thread the handling of replacement and repairs seemed to be rather bad in September, when this problem (seemingly) first occurred. How widespread is this issue? If I send in my console, will my replacement unit likely
    have the same issues? Have the faulty parts been identified? Why is this now happening in-game?

    I certainly do not want to send in my console and be told that everything is fine since the noise does not occur when on the dashboard...

    It makes the same static buzzing noise other xbox ones do like all the videos on youtube

    What do you mean by "buzzing sound"?

    Is it a buzzing noise coming from your laptop's cooling fans (or other components)? Or is it a buzzing noise from the Xbox gameplay stream?

    Is it a buzzing noise coming from your laptop's cooling fans (or other components)? Or is it a buzzing noise from the Xbox gameplay stream?

    Xbox Series X buzzing/ticking noise coming from the fan area.

    My console always had coil whine, but that's not what I'm talking about. My Series X as of recently started making a hard drive like clicking sound, but only when idle and I'm on the home screen. And soon as I start a game, the noise completely stops. My Series X always made a low electrical buzzing sound when games were running and still does. With that being said, that's not what I'm concerned about, it's a clicking like sound that constantly continues until I launch a game and then it stops and the normal coil whine kicks in depending on the game.

    Have you inspected your wire for any damages? A droning, buzzing sound usually comes from some kind of damage in the line, like a crossed wire or something of the like. Is the rubber on the headset damaged? If you've been through many controllers and
    it still manages to make this sound, it is leading me to believe that your Headset is to blame (and that is a nice piece too, hopefully it isn't broken).

    A lot of damage always seems to come at the connection end or the end nearest the actual headphones because those are the least flexible and always end up severing somewhere around that part. Usually it'll just stop working but if the wires create a current
    through the wire that isn't broken, you'll end up with electrical interference and that will cause a scratchy noise when talking if it still works, or a flat out, annoying, buzzing sound. The same works with Ethernet cables, but I digress. Have you tried
    using another Mic to see if the issue persists?

    If your controller is vibrating and it's causing your mic to buzz, you might have a bad wire in the connection part and every time it rumbles, it may be very quickly and constantly touching and then not touching. Does the buzzing go away if it stops rumbling?
    Or is it there all the time?

    Sounds like a wire is loose somewhere and causing a short hence the buzzing noise and the overheating. It will need replacing by the sounds of it
