Buzzing sound from console

I bought my Xbox One yesterday. There is a buzzing sound that comes from the right side, in the center of the grate panel. It is high pitched. It sounds almost as if there is a wire stuck in the fan. I haven't put any physical games in there yet, but
strangely, when I play demos and free games, the sound stops. Is this normal?

What do you mean by "buzzing sound"?

Is it a buzzing noise coming from your laptop's cooling fans (or other components)? Or is it a buzzing noise from the Xbox gameplay stream?

 

Xbox One HDD buzzing sound

Picked up a new kinect free console yesterday. Set it up but it started making a loud buzzing sound from the hdd after the initial system update. I returned this unit and tried another one.

This next unit does the same thing. Basically if you're on the home menu the buzzing sound starts. But here is where it gets weird. If you start any game from the hdd the buzzing stops. However return to the home menu and quit the game and the buzzing resumes.
Curiously enough if you just suspend the game to the home menu the buzzing doesn't restart. Only when you quit will it begin again.

Normal operation or a defect? Kinect free console with good ventilation. Any advice/info is much appreciated!

That doesn't sound like a noise you should be hearing and it is quite odd that it stops when you play digital downloads. It could be either the fan or possibly the hard drive, but even then it shouldn't be making the noises that you are describing. Is the
console other wise okay and fully functional? Have you set it up to lay horizontal rather than vertical?

I took it to Gamestop and exchanged it for another one. No more sound.
